Ripley Gardens: Quality Housing on a Historic Site
CIMG2963_4

A redevelopment of the historic Ripley Memorial Hospital, Ripley Gardens is a  mixed-income development providing rental and home ownership opportunities for households at very-low, low, and moderate-income levels.

Located at Penn Avenue North and Queen Avenue (301 Penn Ave. N.), the entire site is on the National Register of Historic Places and the Minneapolis Historic Register. Aeon has a track record of award-winning preservation and restoration work, turning historic structures into high-quality housing and valuable community assets.

The redevelopment plan aligns with the Harrison Neighborhood Association's aims to improve and stabilize neighborhood housing, upgrade and beautify Glenwood Avenue, support business creation, add affordable and market-rate rental housing, and increase homeownership opportunities.

Construction completed in August 2007.

Ripley Gardens is one of twelve recipients from around the country to receive funding from the Restore America program--a partnership of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and HGTV. To see the HGTV promotion piece featuring Ripley Gardens, click here.
